Newcastle Coalfields Rugby League Referees Association Mourns Loss of Life Member
It is with profound sadness that the Newcastle Coalfields Rugby League Referees Association (NCRLRA) announces the passing of our esteemed Life Member #119, Mr Dennis Birch.
Dennis was a long-serving and deeply dedicated member whose commitment to our association was unwavering. He continually maintained a high level of involvement, serving with the utmost passion and integrity. His contributions were particularly impactful in the junior space, where he devoted countless hours to mentoring and developing young referees. Dennis’s guidance, patience, and knowledge had an immense and positive influence on the careers and character of many officials who have come through our ranks.
His legacy is one of selfless service and a genuine love for the game and its grassroots community. Dennis will be remembered not only for his officiating expertise but for his kindness and dedication to fostering the next generation.

Our heartfelt thoughts and condolences are with the Birch family during this incredibly difficult time. The association will advise of memorial service details as they become available.
For any members requiring support during this period, please do not hesitate to reach out to our Welfare & Support Officer, Cameron Smith, at support@ncrlra.org.au or on 424 290 121.
