Homicide detectives are actively investigating the September 14 shooting death of 31-year-old Stanley Fischer, which has now been officially ruled a homicide.

The incident unfolded in the 2000 block of Bremen. Fire officials alerted police around 7:15 p.m., leading officers to discover Fischer inside a vehicle with a gunshot wound to the head. Emergency Medical Services personnel pronounced him dead at the scene. Fischer, a resident of the 200 block of Sheffield Ct. in Fairview Heights, Illinois, left behind a community now seeking answers.

 

Months later, on December 23, the St. Louis Medical Examiner’s Office provided a critical update following an autopsy, formally classifying Fischer’s death as a homicide. This official ruling underscores the violent nature of the crime and propels the ongoing investigative efforts.
